Assoc. Prof. Joselito Florendo
Assoc. Prof. Joselito Florendo joined SEARCA as Deputy Director for Administration on 1 December 2019. University of the Phiippines (UP) Diliman Cesar E.A. Virata School of Business Assoc. Prof. Joselito 'Joe' Florendo, brings with him his vast experience as Vice President for Planning and Finance of the University of the Philippines (UP) from May 2014 to November 2019 and other posts he held at UPD, including Assistant Vice President for Planning and Finance, Director of the Budget Office, Chief Accountant of the Accounting Office, Director of the Business Concessions Office, and Chair of the Department of Accounting and Finance at the UP Virata School of Business. He also served as Executive Director of the UP Provident Fund, Inc. and Assistant Executive Director of the UP Foundation, Inc.
Assoc. Prof. Florendo earned his International Masters in Small and Medium Enterprises in 2005 at the Asia-Europe Institute of the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (with distinction) and was a research fellow of the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accountancy degree (Cum Laude) in 1992 at UPD and ranked 15th in the May 1994 Certified Public Accountants Licensure Examination.
Assoc. Prof. Florendo was chosen as the 2014-2015 Deloitte-FINEX Most Outstanding Finance Educator of the Philippines and received the 2016 Dangal ng Bayan Award from President Rodrigo R. Duterte during the Outstanding Government Workers Awards rites held on 19 December 2016 at Malacañang Palace. He was runner-up in the 2019 National Accounting Teacher Award of Price Waterhouse Coopers.
Assoc. Prof. Florendo is frequently tapped as a resource speaker or consultant in accounting and finance for various public and private entities.
