MANILA, Philippines — A total of 77 universities around the world belonging to two separate university consortia are eyeing to close ranks to pursue initiatives for Southeast Asia's agricultural and rural development.
The tertiary institutional bodies are the Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations International Models for Students (AIMS).
SEARCA Director Gil Saguiguit Jr. presented the merits of opening the prestigious UC Graduate Forum to the AIMS universities to enable students to attend as well as present their research results.
"As such, SEARCA sees that drawing in AIMS scholars and researchers to the UC Graduate Forum can be an impetus for the collaborations in more research among constituents of the UC and AIMS to boost agricultural and rural development," Saguiguit said.
