CLSU hosts SEARCA training workshop on VEX robotics

THE Central Luzon State University (CLSU), in partnership with the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), conducted a training workshop on VEX Robotics to play a pivotal role in advancing agricultural engineering toward smart farming.

CLSU Strategic Communication Office (SCO) said trainers from Hytec Power Inc. (HPI) showcased their latest innovation of Vex Robotics bundles during the two-day training workshop on Oct. 23 and 24, 2023, in collaboration with CLSU Precision and Digital Agriculture Center or PreDiCt.

The CLSU-SCO said HPI also guided the participants during the hands-on training, where they experienced building robots that tested their information technology (IT) and engineering skills.

The workshop featured topics on mastering VEX motors, the artful use of the bump sensor for precision, the use of a wireless controller, inventive robot modifications and the creation of programs for the VEX Robot.

During the workshop, CLSU faculty members from the IT Department, Engineering Sciences Department, and Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering joined experts from the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

The CLSU SCO said the participants explored the full spectrum of sensors and engaged in a thrilling robot competition that showcased their newfound knowledge and skills in robotics.
