Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) and Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) have launched the monograph on Dairy Buffalo Value Chain Analysis in Luzon, which identifies policy directions to improve the industry's competitiveness.
"[The monograph] contains policy directions and strategies to enhance the industry's competitiveness and increase participation and share of smallholder farmers in the value chain," SEARCA Director Gil C. Saguiguit, Jr. said during the recently held International Conference on Carabao-based Enterprise Development.
"Our deepest appreciation to Dr. Flor Lantican and her team for their excellent work on this Project," he further said.
During the event, Saguiguit lauded PCC for entrusting to SEARCA this project along with other capacity building and research activities to help improve this dairy buffalo industry in the Philippines.
SEARCA is a treaty organization of 11 Southeast Asian countries mandated to build capacities in agricultural and rural development in the region. It does its work through core programs on graduate education and institutional development, research and development, and knowledge management.
The organization is hosted by the Philippine government through the Department of Education on the campus of the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) in Laguna.
