Seventy students competed in the first Laguna Robot LEGOlympics 2022 that engaged them in problem-solving, including in farming, through critical thinking. The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture hosted the recent event in collaboration with Felta Multi-Media Inc., National University-Laguna, Department of Trade and Industry-Laguna and Infor, said SEARCA.   Elementary and high-school students from National University-Laguna, Alpha Angelicum Academy, Columban College-Olongapo, and Mines Elementary School participated in the event.  SEARCA Director Dr. Glenn B. The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture, as well as the Department of Education (DepEd), have inked a memorandum of understanding for institutional cooperation, with SEARCA Director Dr. Glenn B. Gregorio and Dr. Leonor Magtolis Briones, who was education chief at that time, as signatories. ISAAA Inc. took science communication further by combining responsible science reporting and the potential of social media to advocate modern biotechnology and reach a wider range of audiences of various demographics in a two-day virtual workshop in collaboration with the Philippine Department of Agriculture's Biotech Program Office and the SEARCA Biotechnology Information Center (BIC). WINNERS of the 1st Laguna Robot LEGOlympics 2022 held at the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) headquarters in University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) on July 15 will be competing at the Philippine Robotics Olympiad 2022 on August 13 at the Santa Rosa City Multi-Purpose Sports Complex. (SGV) was tapped by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to formulate the National Agriculture and Fishery Modernization and Industrialization Plan (Nafmip) 2021-2030. The Nafmip, which is the 10-year directional plan of the Department of Agriculture (DA), was launched during the 2022 National Farmers and Fisherfolks' Month in May with former Agriculture secretary William Dar leading the ceremonial acceptance of the plan by agri-fishery stakeholders.
