Collaborative opportunities to capacitate women agripreneurs through a planting program were explored during the recent visit of the Kalipayan Farm and Alfonso Women’s Council to the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) in Los Baños, Laguna. Kalipayan Farm founder Nikole Kazemi visited SEARCA along with Alfonso Women’s Council Chairman Len Maraan Reyes and board members Florinda Martal and Arceli Del Mundo. LAGUNA (September 14, 2023)—The capacity-building initiatives on agrotourism of the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), headquartered on the campus of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), took center stage during an international conference in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. Six Philippine universities recently participated in a two-week summer school focused on the critical importance of sustainable agricultural solutions in adverse conditions conducted by the Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC) in Thailand. Hosted by Kasetsart University (KU) at its Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus in July-August 2023, the summer school had 51 delegates from various universities, including 12 members of the UC. (SciCommPh) and the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) teamed up to promote the outputs of science and technology (S&T) research, development and innovations in agriculture.
