(Cambodia), Master of Management in Development Management (University of the Philippines Los Baños)

Field Study Abstract:

This study primarily aimed to determine the factors that influenced the AIT project in achieving its specific objectives and goal. The specific objectives of the study were to (1) describe the AIT Aquaculture Outreach Program in terms of its objectives, goals, and strategies; (2) determine the existing management and organization practices employed in the AIT project; (3) determine the factors (sociodemographic, management and organization, and beneficiary) that influenced the attainment of AIT’s project goals; (4) identify the problems in the management of the project; and (5) recommend possible solutions.

The findings revealed that the project was relatively well managed. The objectives, including increased income, fish sufficiency, local capacity building, and better income generation were achieved.

Results also showed that the significant relationships were between farmers’ educational attainment to farmer participation and livelihood, and between project factors and increased local capacity building and better income generation, extension service and improved quality of life. Technical assistance and extension service were also related with farmer participation and fish production.

Some of the problems met were inadequate management and organization skills, planning, technical assistance, extension materials, and coordination.

The project should have long-term planning for the entire phase of implementation to achieve its vision, mission, objectives, and goal.
